Stephan R. Leimberg

Stephan R. Leimberg is CEO of Leimberg and LeClair, Inc., an estate and financial planning software company, CEO of LISI, Leimberg Information Services, Inc., an email newsletter service, and President of Leimberg Associates, Inc., a publishing and software company. He is an Adjunct Professor in the Masters of Taxation Program of Villanova University School of Law and former adjunct at Temple University School of Law. He holds a B.A. from Temple University, and a J.D. from Temple University School of Law. Leimberg is the Editor of the American Society of Financial Service Professionals audio publication, Keeping Current.

Leimberg is the author or co-author of numerous books on estate, financial, and employee benefit and retirement planning and a nationally known speaker. Leimberg is the creator and principal author of the entire nine book Tools & Techniques series including The Tools & Techniques of Estate Planning, The Tools & Techniques of Financial Planning, The Tools & Techniques of Employee Benefit and Retirement Planning, The Tools & Techniques of Life Insurance Planning, The Tools & Techniques of Charitable Planning, The Tools & Techniques of Investment Planning, The Tools & Techniques of Risk Management, The Tools & Techniques of Practice Management, and The Tools & Techniques of Retirement Income Planning. Leimberg has also spoken to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

Leimberg was awarded the Excellence in Writing Award of the American Bar Association’s Probate and Property Section. He has been honored as Estate Planner of the Year by the Montgomery County Estate Planning Council and as Distinguished Estate Planner by the Philadelphia Estate Planning Council. He is also a recipient of the President’s Cup of the Philadelphia Life Underwriters, a two time Boris Todorovitch Lecturer, and the First Ben Feldman Lecturer.

Leimberg was named Edward N. Polisher Lecturer of the Dickinson School of Law and 2004 recipient of the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils Distinguished Accredited Estate Planner award.

Jesus M. Pedre

Jesus M. Pedre, CPCU, AIC, CIC, CRM, FLMI, is a risk management and insurance instructor at Huston-Tillitson University and University of Texas at Austin. Jesus began his insurance career with Allstate Insurance as a claims adjuster in south Florida and progressed through various claim specialties to become a Market Claim Manager who oversaw the day-to-day operations of more than one hundred insurance professionals in a territory that included Miami, the Florida Keys, and Puerto Rico. After relocating to the Austin, Texas with Allstate, Jesus accepted a position as the technical insurance trainer at the Texas Department of Insurance, where he was responsible for developing and delivering insurance training for over 1,800 employees.

Since 2005, Jesus has been an Adjunct Professor in the School of Business and Technology at Huston-Tillotson University, teaching risk management and insurance, and has been instrumental in the development of a CFP program at Huston-Tillitson. Since 2007, he has also taught insurance and risk management in the Certified Financial Planner program at the University of Texas, Austin.

Jesus is a U.S. Army veteran who serves as a volunteer instructor for the Command Financial Specialist Program in Fort Hood, Texas, as well as a volunteer at the local Veterans Administration clinic. He has been recognized since 2008 as an Outstanding Course Leader by the Insurance Institute of America and American Institute for CPCU (The Institutes) for leading classes that have consistently achieved examination pass ratios that exceed national averages.

Kenneth W. Price

Kenneth W. Price, CFP®, CFA, ChFC®, CLU®, AEP® is a financial Advisor with Per Stirling, one of the largest, comprehensive wealth management firms in central Texas. He also serves as Lead Instructor for The University of Texas at Austin Financial Planning Certificate Program, a program registered with the CFP Board to provide the education requirements for CFP® candidates.

Kenneth has been providing wealth planning and wealth management services for over eighteen years, helping individuals, families, and business owners to realize their financial aspirations. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. While pursuing his engineering degree, he took “Personal Family Finance”—an elective course—and found his passion in financial planning. Kenneth’s experience includes working for the Consumer Credit Counseling Service where he equipped individuals and families with debt elimination strategies, helped them create budgets, and advised them on various resources for meeting immediate needs. In addition, he has trained and supervised more than fifteen employees, including financial advisors and sales assistants. His areas of specialization include retirement planning, investment planning, risk management, and estate planning. He is particularly focused on using education to help clients develop a high level of confidence and security in all areas of their financial affairs.

Kenneth is a past President and board member of the Financial Planning Association of Austin where he is currently an active member. He is a member of the CFA Institute, as well as the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), where he serves on the Practice Foundation Committee. He is also a Board Member of the Estate Planning Council of Central Texas.

Michael D. Thomas, J.D.

Michael D. Thomas, is an author and consultant and has served as the Manager of Online Product Development and as a Senior Editor with the National Underwriter Company, a division of ALM Media. In addition, Mike has served as a consultant to the State of Ohio Department of Medicaid and as a writer for “The Digital Broker Podcast”, which focuses on insurance technology and operations. Mike currently works with a major commercial healthcare insurance company and provider of Medicare and Medicaid services. In addition to authoring 2021 Healthcare Reform Facts, Mike has also authored 2021 Social Security & Medicare Facts, and  has been responsible for the editorial process and development of other healthcare and insurance publications including Advisor’s Guide to Long Term Care 2nd Edition, Social Security & Medicare Facts, ERISA Facts, and Health Savings Accounts Facts for The National Underwriter Company as well as designing, implementing, and managing the NUPro Healthcare Reform online service. Mike has also authored numerous articles on healthcare reform, Social Security, Medicare and Insurance issues.  He has developed, hosted, and taught webinars on Healthcare Reform and Social Security, including “The Affordable Care Act and the Employer Mandate”, “The Affordable Care Act and the Cadillac Tax – Use the Delay for Your Advantage!”, “How to Successfully Navigate the Latest Changes to the Affordable Care Act”, and “The Impact of Social Security on Retirement Plans”.

Prior to joining National Underwriter, Mike spent over twenty-five years with LexisNexis®, where he was responsible for the editorial content and new product development of new online and traditional legal products, including Health Law, Insurance Law, Social Security Law, Labor & Employment Law, Family Law, as well as other legal research tools. In addition, he worked as a Field Agent for Knights of Columbus Insurance specializing in life, health, disability income, long-term care insurance as well as annuity sales.

Mike has a Bachelor of Arts from Tufts University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Dayton.
