Finding Products

You can get a complete listing of products within a specific subject category by clicking on any of the links on the navigation bar. Many products are listed in more than one category so that you can find them more easily.

If you know exactly what you are looking for or would rather search by product name or author, you can type in the keywords in the search box at the top right-hand side of the page.

Each individual product page contains a description and picture. Many selections also display sample pages and a table of contents. You also can receive more information on a product by contacting [email protected].

Ordering Products

You can order products online by going to that product's individual page and adding it to your shopping cart. Your shopping cart keeps track of your orders that you have selected on our site. You can view your shopping cart at any time by clicking the 'Shopping Cart' icon at the top right-hand side of the site. When you are ready to purchase your products, continue following the prompts for a seamless checkout experience.

If you have a discount code, enter your code in the ‘Enter Discount Code’ box in your shopping cart during the checkout process.

You will receive an email confirmation once your order has been processed. If you do not receive an e-mail or if you have any questions about your order, please contact [email protected].

What methods of payment can I use?

We accept Visa, MasterCard & American Express. If you prefer to receive an invoice with your shipment, please call our customer service department at 1-800-543-0874 with your company purchase order number.

What is your return policy? How do I return this product?

Our products come with a 30-day money back guarantee. If your product is damaged in shipping, we will replace it at no cost to you. Claims must be made within 30 days from the invoice date. Special rules apply for certain products and are listed below. Otherwise, if you are not satisfied, simply return the product within 30 days and we will refund your purchase in the form of the original payment.

  • Electronic Product - There are no returns on CDROMs or products downloaded from our website.
  • Rush and Overnight Shipping - Charges for rush and overnight shipping are not refundable.
  • CE Exams - Continuing Education Exams are not returnable
  • Subscriptions - No refunds will be issued after the first 45 days of service.

What can I do when a product is out of stock?

On the product page, please enter your email address to be notified when the product is back in stock. You can manage your out of stock notices in My Account.

How can I request a copy of my invoice?

Please call Customer Service at 1-800-543-0874 or e-mail [email protected]. If available, please have your invoice number and customer number ready.

Can we ship to a PO Box?

No, UPS will not ship to a PO Box.

What does automatic renewal mean?

For Standing Order Book Products with Automatic Update Service:
To ensure you remain up-to-date with the latest developments, we will automatically send you our updated versions of the book(s) as soon as they are available (no more than twice a year) at our then current rates. You may cancel this automatic update service at any time simply by contacting us.


For Annual Subscription Order Book Products with Automatic Renewal:
Each year your subscription will automatically renew and we will send you the next year's edition at our then current rate. To ensure you remain up-to date with the latest developments, during each subscription term we will automatically send you any updated versions of the books you select as soon as they are available throughout the year at no additional cost. You may cancel automatic renewal for any future term by simply contacting us. Satisfaction Guarantee: You will always have a full 30 days from receipt in which to review any book. If you don't want the book, simply return it in resalable condition within 30 days of receipt and write "cancel" on the invoice.

Automatic renewal is also referred to as standing order.

eBooks + Online

Where can I find my eBook + Online books that I've purchased from the NU Resource Center?

On the NU Online Library. Your eBook + Online books will be automatically added to "My Bookshelf". Simply log in to the NU Online Library with your existing NU Resource Center username and password

What is the NU Online Library?

The NU Online Library is your home for digital (eBook + Online) versions of your trusted National Underwriter resources. The NU Online Library allows you to take notes, highlight, save excerpts, and more all in one place from any device. Learn more about the NU Online Library here.

What is the difference between an eBook and Online book?

eBooks are digital, downloadable versions of books in an .epub file format. eBooks can be downloaded and read on your desktop or a variety of popular tablet and mobile devices; you must have an eBook reader in order to view your eBook. Once downloaded, access to the Internet is not required to read them. Internet access is required to access hyperlinks to cases, statutes and other materials referenced in the books.

Online books are hosted directly on the Online Library. You must have internet access in order to read them. You can highlight, take notes, and bookmark directly in your online books on the Online Library.

What is the difference between an eBook option and eBook + Online option?

Not all National Underwriter books are available in an online format at this time. eBooks are a digital, downloadable version of the print books. The eBook + Online additionally provides the online version of the print book.

I already have a National Underwriter print book. How can I access my book online?

Most National Underwriter books are available to purchase separately in an eBook + Online version. If you'd like to discuss custom bundle options, please contact us at [email protected] or 1-800-543-0874

If I purchase the eBook, how can I access it?

Once you have completed your eBook purchase, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to access your eBook. If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected] or 1-800-543-0874.

What eBook Reader Software is recommended?

For iPad or iPhone users, we recommend Adobe Digital Editions.

For Android devices users, we recommend Adobe Digital Editions.

What is the eBook taxation policy?

By default, electronically delivered products are considered to be shipped to your credit card billing address for taxation purposes. Where digital and shipped products are purchased together, the shipping address will be used for taxation purposes.

What is the eBook return policy?

If you have purchased the eBook in error and have not downloaded the eBook, you may contact us to request a refund within 30 days from the order date.

Can I share my National Underwriter eBook?

You are not permitted to share, move, copy, reproduce, network or otherwise transfer any National Underwriter eBooks to any computer or other device of any other person.

You are allowed to transfer/share your National Underwriter eBooks on up to six devices that support Adobe Digital Editions and that have been licensed to you. The Adobe Digital Editions website provides more details on how to access your eBook library from multiple computers/devices.

Why does my name and company appear on every page of the eBook? Can I remove it?

In order to make our products easily accessible across a variety of devices and eReader applications, ALM eBooks have adopted a Digital Rights Management (DRM) policy known as “Social DRM” as opposed to imposing a more restrictive policy. Your name appearing on the book indicates that you are the sole owner of the book and will abide by the terms and conditions.
