Communicating with the Media: A Panel Discussion

Jerry Davies serves as Director of Communications for the Personal Insurance Federation of California. He works with the media and trade press statewide providing factual information about personal lines insurance issues. On behalf of the member companies of PIFC, he prepares press releases, reference materials, and background information on a variety of legislative and regulatory topics. A native of Miami, Florida, Jerry began his career in television news while attending the University of Miami. He served as anchor on WPLG-TV (ABC), Miami, and later following graduate school at KCCI-TV (CBS), Des Moines, Iowa.  After a nine-year stint in television, he became Press Secretary and Director of Research and Consumer Education for the Florida Insurance Commissioner.  He joined the Insurance Information Institute (III) as Regional Manager in Dallas in 1976.  The III is a New York-based property and casualty insurance educational trade association.
